A Personal Journey of Healing and Growth

"Healing is not a destination—it’s a relationship with yourself."

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Leigh. I help people navigate life’s challenges with intention and integrative mental health support.

I am a humanitarian, psychologist, sailor, and writer—and I’m someone who has walked the long, winding road of healing myself. My journey has been marked by deep trauma, late-stage cancer, and the evolving challenges of marriage and parenthood. These experiences have shaped who I am and the work I do: holding space for others to heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of self.

A Career Rooted in Care

“Care isn’t just a profession—it’s a way of seeing, holding, and honoring someone’s story.”

From the earliest stages of my career, my time has been dedicated to one guiding principle: to provide spaces where women and children feel safe, seen, and supported.

I’ve created bilingual schools and directed childcare centers, taught birth and parenting courses, and worked as a doula and midwife in remote locations impacted by natural disaster and war. Each of these roles has solidified my understanding of care, resilience, and the emotional labor often carried by families. I’m also the founder of PALs, a global humanitarian relief organization supporting women and children.

These opportunities and experiences to share life with so many incredible humans, combined with my own lived journey through trauma, late-stage cancer, and 30+ years of marriage and motherhood, have profoundly shaped how I show up for others. I understand what it means to feel overwhelmed, unseen, or uncertain—and I know the quiet strength that can grow through vulnerability and support.

With a Master of Science in Psychology/Integrative Therapy (Jan 2026), I combine decades of personal insight and professional experience to provide trauma-informed support for individuals navigating life’s most challenging moments. As I pursue my PhD, I am developing an accessible model of integrative therapy for anyone, anywhere—including those in remote areas where immediate care is out of reach.

Why I Created This Space

LeighWilliam.com is a reflection of my belief that healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, with others, and with the stories we carry. Whether through my writing, resources, retreats, small group meetings, or 1:1 sessions, this space is here to offer guidance, comfort, and community.

I’m not here to "fix" you. I’m here to walk alongside you, holding space for your unique process. If you’re navigating depression, anxiety, parenting challenges, chronic illness, emotional burnout, caregiver fatigue, trauma, or epigenetic trauma—you’re not alone. Your healing matters, and you deserve support that honors your story.

As I continue to contribute to publications, speak on family well-being and trauma-informed care, and begin clinical work, my mission remains the same: to spark conversations, deepen connection, and empower individuals and families to thrive.

Thank you for being here. I hope this space offers you insight, peace, and the reminder that healing is possible—even in the messiness of real life.

Warmly,
Leigh
